ethical and sustainable way which pays careful consideration to human rights, the community, environment, and society is important for any company and NDTC is no exception. This is why NDTC has prioritised its CSR strategy as a crucial component of the company’s competiveness and something that NDTC has actively participated in for the last 10 years and something the company will continue partaking in going into the future. This means having policies and procedures in place which integrate social, environmental, ethical, human rights or consumer concerns into business operations and core strategy -all in close collaboration with stakeholders. Despite the fact that NDTC does this on a company policy level, its effects must also trickle down to all employees who are encouraged to develop the spirit of giving ,even in their own personal lives with a view that sharing is caring. What could be interesting to note is also that NDTC’s corporate social responsibility activities give a chance to all the employees to contribute towards the society, environment and country. What is true in this era, is that most, if not all our stakeholders are increasingly aware of the importance of social responsibility, and actively seek products and or services from businesses that operate ethically and are giving back to their immediate societies. Our CSR initiatives demonstrate that we are a business that takes an interest in wider social issues, rather than just those that impact our profit margins, which will attract customers who share the same values. Therefore, it makes good business sense for us to operate sustainably. Indeed, NDTC is also not blind to the fact that socially responsible companies tend to attract employees who are eager to make a difference in the world. One can never deny that there is strength in numbers, where collective employee efforts can achieve substantial results, which increases workplace morale and boosts productivity. Therefore, if we embark on our CSR activities together we can as well be assured that we will often enjoy a leg up on our competition, thanks to superior brand imaging. As a responsible corporate citizen, NDTC has in recent times undertaken to uplift Namibia’s entrepreneurs through an enterprise development regime that not only is integral to our own development, but one that plays an essential role in building a vibrant Namibian business community and creating employment for Namibians. SME development is clearly a national development priority area. NDTC’s support demonstrates what we believe, that SME development provides tremendous opportunity for us to fully unlock the full potential of Namibian entrepreneurs. NDTC’s support, through its corporate social responsibility commitments is firmly rooted in its focus on promoting sustainable community development, combating poverty and disease, protecting environment and enterprise development, thus developing the capacities of Namibian people or institutions within the communities where we work. To achieve greater as an organisation, it is time that we all begin to consider CSR policies as a core and inseparable component of the overall service or product offer
